Basic steps for creating a good Web Redesign Services

The first point you should consider is understanding what information your Web Redesign Services should contain. In most cases your website should have at least the following basic structure:

There are many other web pages which you can add to your website but these pages will be determined by the type of business you own. Below are examples of other pages you may require for your website redesign:

Resources page – A resource page can be used to structure information in to categories, this information can then be downloaded by website users. You can also charge a fee for users which want to obtain this information. In most cases free download information is a very useful method of driving web traffic to your Website Redesign. The resources can be in different formats such as a word document, pdf document, video clip, audio clip, graphic file, power point presentation, there are many formats which can be used to deliver information to your website users. Informative download information is a great way to advertise your business, especially if the information your provide is free, this is also know as viral marketing.

Image gallery page – An image gallery page is a good way to visually present your business, for example if you are a property developer you may want to show before and after images of a property development or if your are a photographer you may want to compile a gallery of images in to categories which would provide a good method of demonstrating your work.

Payment processing page – A basic payment processing page can be a useful mechanism for accepting payments from your clients. More advanced payment processing is know as e commerce. There are many payment processing providers such as PayPal or Google checkout. In most cases these payment processing providers will only charge a fee if a payment is made. Most banking payment processing has a monthly fee so you should consider and research which is the most cost effective for your business.

The above pages listed are only a few example of how you can create more interacting on your website. A good way to find out what else you can achieve is to simply look at what your competitors are doing.

Listed below are some of the most common requirements for an effective website:

Meta Tag Data – meta tag data is used by search engines to find and correctly catalog your website. It is very important that the meta tag data you add to your website is relevant to your business. There are three main types of meta tag data:

Title Tag – The title tag is important for Best Web Redesign Company search engine optimisation. The title tag is used to form a part of a search engine result. It is important to keep your title tag short but also try to list the most common keywords in your web page title tag. Each web page on your website can contain a different title tag.

Keyword Tag – The keyword tag contains words or phrases that potential visitors will use in search engines to find your business website redesign. The main text on your website should also contain these keywords. Each page on your website should focus on a specific keyword and the text information on this page should reflect against this chosen keyword.

Description Tag – The description tag is normally placed under your title tag and should contain a short description about your business. This is an opportunity for you to sell your products and services to your potential clients. Search engines use the description tag to form a basic description of your business in search results. It is advisable to keep your description tag short and straight to the point. Get your message about your business within the first two lines of description text.

Fonts – Keep your fonts (text type) simple. I would recommend Veranda or Aral font types. These fonts are easy and clear to read. Avoid fancy fonts which are difficult to read as this will only distract a user from the key information you are emphasizing.

Colours – Use high contrast colour combination on your website, for example if your background is a light colour use a dark colour for the text. I would recommend an off white colour for the background and a dark Grey (all most black) colour for the text.

Compress your images – When adding images to your website it is advisable to compress the images using a graphic application. Your images should be set to 72dpi (dots per inch) for displaying on a computer monitor, high resolutions on a website pages will not affect the quality of the image being displayed. You should save your images using , .jpg or .gif format which are the most common format used when adding images to your website. .jpg images are suitable for complex images and .gif are suitable for simple banner of title images.

Designing your website template – In most cases it is advisable to redesign your website for 15” monitor which use an 800 x 600 screen resolution. Although you may have a large screen monitor, many of your website visitors may have a smaller screen size, by creating a Web Site Re Design based on a smaller resolution you will be giving all your website users access to a website which can be viewed on any monitor size. In some cases you may require more space for your website so I higher resolution design will be required, this is OK but you should always consider the end user (website visitor) before making this decision. It is also possible to create a website which dynamically changes size based on the monitor size of the user but you normally loose a lot of control over the content layout when creating such a solution.

Colours – Use high contrast colour combinations on your website, for example if your background is a light colour use a dark colour for the text. I would recommend an off white colour for the background and a dark grey (all most black) colour for the text.

Web Redesign Services - The Reasons to Give Good Service

Web Redesign Services deal with many different kinds of people with equally varying personalities. Giving your client good service may not always be the easiest thing to accomplish especially when those dishing out the criticism often have no idea what they are talking about.

We’ve all been there and dealing with difficult clients comes with the territory. The same is true for almost any service industry not just Website Redesign. The key is in respectfully dealing with those people. One thing you should never assume when dealing with any client is that they understand exactly what they want. It’s our job to successfully communicate technically complex issues to the client in a way that they can understand. It’s our job to solve problems and move heaven and earth to accomplish the task at hand.

The many benefits of giving good service is worth more to you in the long run. Following are a couple of points to think about the next time you feel like drop kicking the client.

Good service in the Website Redesign industry:

  • Builds your reputation better than anything else.
  • Will grow your testimonials of happy clients a lot faster.
  • Allows you to charge more for your services and establishes a level of superiority over your competition who’s only interest is in the number of jobs they can complete in a month.
  • Will get you more word of mouth referrals than any other aspect of your product or service

These are but a few of the benefits of giving a client good service. When you’re building a website for someone who is not very technically savvy, be patient and explain things a hundred times if you have to. Doing so will make your client feel like he/she is not stupid for not knowing all the terminology you use. People remember when you treat them well and go the extra mile.

Using less techno-babble and explain things in layman’s terms you will gain the respect of the client and find that they are easier to speak to rather than trying to impress them with your techie speak, which only ends up alienating or frustration them. You are not superior to the client merely because they don’t understand what dynamically generated content means.

Give good service when you build a website because the industry is suffering from a bad rep due to website redesign and developers acting arrogantly when dealing with clients. We have a Professional Web Design occupation that very few people can excel at. If we want people to respect website designers and developers then we need to start acting professionally.

This can be as simple as calling your clients back promptly, or not answering their emails in a snotty way, even if you think they deserve it. Take the time to listen, and you’ll be surprised at how many people will treat you better just for listening to them. Don’t interrupt them, and remember that you are working for them. People invest a lot of money in paying you to design a website that serves them or their business well. Build first class websites, each time, every time.

When people hire us to do a job for them, don’t give second rate work and finish the job as promised and do your best to finish the job on time. Work every project regardless of the price tag of the job, and do it as if you were building a website for yourself.

What You Need To Know About Web Redesign Services

So you want to have the best website possible, right? Then you need to understand the basic concepts of website redesign. Unless your website is simply for fun - or a hobby site - you want to entice your visitors to do something while they are surfing through your pages. Good website design will lay out your site so that it is easy to navigate through, is attractive, and provides you with functionality. In order to help you get your website up and running with the best possible results, you need to understand the concepts behind good Web Redesign Services.

The first key to a productive website is understanding the content that you include in the website. You want to make sure the information you use is reliable and accurate. If you are promoting a product or a business, you need to ensure that it is reputable and that all of your facts are right. You need to make sure that your website is presented as a credible source of information or else your visitors will go find the information somewhere else. Additionally, good Website Redesign Company includes making sure that the text is spelled properly and the grammar is correct. Misspelled words and improper grammar will make your visitors run away.

The next key to website redesign is making sure your website is compatible with the most popular and most widely used web browsers used today. In order to do that you need use text, graphics, and effects that are recognized and supported by these browsers. If you do not, then your website will not display properly for your visitors and that is another reason why they will move on to someone else’s website. Always make sure that your website displays properly in Firefox, Opera, Safari, Netscape - yes, there are still some people using this browser - and, of course, Microsoft Internet Explorer. Always view your website in these platforms before letting it go live to make sure your HTML coding is correct.

What other things do you need to know about good web redesign services? Graphics and photos in your website are great, but unless they have been optimized to a small size without sacrificing the quality of the picture, they are detrimental to your site and not an asset. Not everyone has switched over to broadband or they are still using dial up to access the Internet. Photos and graphics take time to load, and if yours takes longer than 10 seconds to load then you could lose a visitor. Keep the pictures small and to a minimum, and always use an ALT HTML tag that allows people to turn off the graphics if they need to.

The same goes for background colours, multimedia, frames, and links. A good Professional Web Design uses colours that all browsers can read. Multimedia - such as flash movies, video clips, and background music - should come with the ability to start and stop as the visitor sees fit, or if they are flash components, visitors should have the option to skip them. Frames are not always supported by your visitor’s web browser version, making them frustrating to view. Does this mean that you shouldn’t include these items? No. It just means that a good website redesign will limit how they are used. Only you can decide whether or not these items are integral to your website.

The last key to a good web redesign services is making sure that all of the links you use throughout your site should work and not be broken. You will need to check them every so often to make sure they work and update them as needed. If you follow these suggestions for a good website redesign, then your Redesigning Web will be the best it can be.

How to Have a Successful Website?

Businesses have recognized the importance of websites like never before. They have realized that it’s better to concentrate on them, so that it gets the necessary impetus in sales rather than waiting for its marketing efforts to yield overnight success results. A Website Redesign can’t be the same for every business. It has to be as unique and objective as the nature of the business. How can a business be casual about its web site design and resort to adoption of website design software for the same purpose, because the results yielded wont be creative enough to entice the target audience to think differently about the business and buy products from it. It is the world where the consumer takes the action and without him getting pleased, no business can think of making it big.

If as a venture, you would like to taste the sweet smell of success and expect the business to maintain the same level of sales as it had before, then web design and its maintenance is of extreme importance.

Another very important thing is that the Web Redesign should have proper navigation so that the search engine spiders are able to crawl it and provide proper rankings. The use of flash should be exempted from the main page and the banner of the website, so that the website is able to load quickly ensuring higher accessibility.

What a Website Redesign Company can do for you is to optimize the website which involves finding the right set of keywords for it. Without the application of such keywords, a website can’t generate any kind of traffic.

Thinking About Totally Redesign Your Web?

At the end of each calendar year I often schedule a quick review of my clients websites with the owner or person in charge of the website. These days Website Redesign involves much more than graphics or the layout of a web page. We look at the visitor stats, any changes in revenue or traffic, and make up a schedule for any changes we find necessary. Sometimes there’s new products or maybe updates to existing information.

So one of my long time clients responds to my email and says he wants to do it early since they will be shutting down for the last two weeks of December. We scheduled the meeting and got the key players together and came up with a very brief agenda. This particular owner, Bill, often sits in but lets his operations and marketing people make most of the decisions.

Let me give you a quick background so you’ll appreciate the meeting notes more. We’ve been doing business with this client for about 15 years. Besides doing their Website Redesign Services we also provide all their IT Support and networking services. The company has been in business for about 35 years and done well in their industry for many years. This year has been tough due to all the financial mess but they have managed to cut some costs and even find a few new clients.

OK, back to the meeting. I get there about 15 minutes early and go up to the conference room to setup my laptop so we can view the website as we discuss any changes. A couple of people stick their head in the door and say hello, I know most of the office staff pretty well. The Operations Manger comes in and after some small talk says, you’re going to love this meeting. I look up from what I’m doing and say, why? He says he’ll let the owner Bill tell me all about it.

So the other 4 managers wander in at the appointed time. One mentions Bill, is on the phone and he’ll be here in a few minutes. So everyone sits tight and I pass out the website statistics for the last 12 months. We’ve got some good software installed to track a lot of information, plus they have an internal tracking system too. Part of our basic Professional Web Design services also involve the marketing aspect of any website.

The owner, Bill comes in and asks if we started and I say no, just handed out the numbers for the past year. He says before we start on the agenda, I’d like to say a few words. I say fine, go ahead. Bill says that he’s already reviewed the numbers and given the current economy and the general slowdown it looks better than he would have forecast. But then he drops the bombshell that he thinks the website looks a little old and thinks we should do a total revamp in content and look and feel.

I was totally caught off guard; never guessing something like this would come up at this meeting. Everyone at the table turned and looked at me for my reaction. I said OK, what is it that you think needs changing? Bill said “well, I’m just tired of looking at the same old website and I think it needs some new information and maybe some additional punch.”

Now don’t get me wrong, I would love to have the extra billable hours something like this would provide for the website design part of my business. Their website has a lot of content and it would be a major project. It would really help out my December billing and provide a great boost to my numbers for the end of the year under our website design revenue.

But the bad news is that it would most likely cause them to loose keyword rankings, lots of targeted traffic, and even worse, lose revenue. I’ve been through this type of situation where a website was doing well and producing revenue and quickly tanked on a major redesign. Major revisions on a producing website can create a big time loss of traffic and indexing, I’ve seen it happen too many times.

So, I told Bill about a client who decided to do the same type of re-design even though I recommended against it. And I gave some very impressive numbers on just how bad the website lost traffic and in turn the company lost revenue. He looked up into the air for a moment, you could see the wheels turning, and said OK all the rest of the staff voiced similar opinions so lets forget the re-design for now.

Everyone at the table breathed a sigh of relief, most of all me. The rest of the meeting went well and we did decide to add some new content and make some other small changes. All in all, it was a good meeting and we made some progress.

The bottom line is that when your website is firing on all cylinders, don’t go in and start making changes just because you may be tired of the same design. It’s a good thing to make some improvements based on tracking and testing different aspects of your website. But if you make major revisions for no business or marketing reasons, it usually works to your disadvantage. Always try and do small changes and test them to determine if they offer any improvement.

And if you don’t have a good method to analyze your important website statistics, you need to address that quickly. This will give you the information to make those important small changes and test each and every one to insure you get the results that were expected. Small changes that prove their worth by testing is always the best approach and should be incorporated into any Custom Website Design project.
